Where My Journey Began

Growing up close with my grandparents shaped both who I am and the work I do today.

They taught me that healthy aging is possible when people have meaningful connections and access to the housing, care, and supports they need to remain active, engaged and valued members of their communities.

Those early lessons shaped my belief that aging well is not just about meeting needs—it is about creating the conditions where seniors continue to contribute, connect, and thrive.

Learning from the Community

After studying gerontology, I founded Silver Lining Senior Services, providing ongoing services and care coordination to seniors living with dementia and their family caregivers for over six years.

Through that work and my own experience as a family caregiver, I witnessed the resilience of seniors and the vital role of family caregivers and community organizations.

Those experiences led me to an important question: How could we expand access so more seniors could benefit from these supports?

Exploring Ways to Improve Access

From there, I transitioned into health system and program innovation.

As a founding employee of GeriMedRisk, I helped build a startup into a province-wide clinical and education service supporting primary care providers and seniors across Ontario. Later, at SE Health, I led strategic initiatives and partnership development focused on new models of affordable housing for seniors and front-line healthcare staff.

Working across care, housing, and health systems showed me how strong foundations, meaningful partnerships, and innovative thinking help organizations adapt, grow, and respond to community needs.

Why I Created Connected Aging

The organizations that serve seniors are doing some of the most important work in our communities.

Throughout my career, I have been inspired by their dedication and have seen firsthand the challenges they face as needs grow and resources become increasingly stretched.

I created Connected Aging to help strengthen the sector by sharing the experience, insights, and lessons I have gained across aging, healthcare, housing, and community care.

Together, we can build capacity, create innovative solutions, and reach more seniors
